The collection brings together nearly seventy original pieces of Hindu and Cambodian origin, dating from the 8th to the 14th centuries, including spectacular Indian reliefs, Khmer sculptures and representations of Buddha and the Hindu pantheon that illustrate the evolution of traditional Asian art. Completing the collection are carved doors, lattice screens, small shrines and elements from ceremonial carts used in religious festivals in southern India.     THE COLLECTOR

    In addition to being a hotelier, Jordi Clos is an Egyptologist, collector and patron of the arts. He chairs the Clos Archaeological Foundation and the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona, the largest private collection of Egyptian art in Europe open to the public, and has financed archaeological excavations in Egypt for more than twenty years.
